Mission

Children are our greatest treasure.

Our mission is to provide proper conditions for a happy childhood for all children attending the kindergarten.

Children’s psyche is fragile and delicate. Therefore, we do not allow the mechanical transfer of adults’ principles and rules or excessive parental ambitions to children at such a tender age.

We are aware of the difficulties in the adaptation process for newly arriving children and strive for offering them and their parents the necessary conditions for the most effortless of adjustments.

Educational process

Children are in need of love, recognition, respect and support during the complex educational process.

Our belief is that the most crucial point of upbringing is the construction and reinforcement of positive behavior. By focusing on games, we prevent the accumulation of unnecessary stress as well as the generation of negative attitude towards learning.

The kindergarten is licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science, which obliges us to fulfill the statutory program for pre-school education and training in Bulgarian.

In the private kindergarten “G. S. Ulanova” two specific education programs are offered – “I am in the kindergarten” and “I will be a student”, which have the following advantages:

  • Balanced coverage of the entire active-creative process of a child’s development – cognitive, social, verbal, emotional, volitional, artistic and physical.
  • Intellectual and social guarantees for equal chances for all children.
  • Synchronized educational content related to the child’s personal-social development.
  • Pedagogical interaction in accordance with the level of development of each child.
  • Reserving the “game” as a child-only activity

The programs continue the tradition of democratic education and are also updated in the spirit of the technological process of the 21st century.

At the same time the education programs – “I am in the kindergarten” and “I will be a student” are consistent with the most current international and government regulations: the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Athens Declaration of the European Ministers of Education on Intercultural Education, the National Strategy for Children 2008-2018.

More than enough hours are devoted to early foreign language training in Russian and English.

Apart from the classic study methods, more interactive ones better suited for children are also used.

Moreover, the kids from pre-school groups are able to communicate with the students from the elementary school, which further contributes to their socialization.

The main task for children in the kindergarten is to learn to comprehend easy-to-understand speech and develop some basic speech habits.

When teaching English and Russian, we strive for using the following techniques directly related to the children’s age:

  • Work on pronunciation by imitation
  • Studying of poems and songs by heart
  • Active and calm themed games with different purposes – introduction and assimilation of lexical knowledge, development of skills and habits of oral speech as well as a form of self-communication
  • Generation of situational dialogues
  • Watching movies, accompanied by a narration by the teacher
  • Work with children while outside for a walk

We have the following targets in the early language learning:

  • To build understanding and speaking skills – the proposed activities represent simple situations with production of speech
  • To promote the creation of language awareness
  • To encourage open-mindedness towards the language
  • To develop understanding abilities, especially in oral communication – children need to distinguish some language elements that enable the construction of meaningful communication
  • To make the children listen, distinguish, recognize and reproduce sounds, rhythms, consonances and intonation schemes related to the pronunciation of the language
  • To motivate the children to learn how the basic oral speech functions by presenting them with relatively simple, yet varied and informative situations
