Magical “Secrets of the Ocean” Week in Our Kindergarten

This past week was dedicated to the incredible world of the ocean! Our children (aged 2–6) turned into real explorers, as every day combined new knowledge, plenty of movement, and fun water games. Here is how our marine adventure went:

  • Monday (Introduction): We learned about the main ocean inhabitants. The children played “fish” hiding from the “shark,” and then used nets to rescue toys from the water.

  • Tuesday (Ocean Giants): We dedicated the day to whales and dolphins. The children jumped over ribbon “waves” and practiced breathing exercises, blowing through straws into the water to create “whale fountains.”

  • Wednesday (The Ocean Floor): We learned to walk sideways like little crabs. To finish up, the children retrieved pebbles from the bottom of a water basin, with the older ones practicing agility by picking them up with their toes.

  • Thursday (Coral Reef and Science): We played “Freeze, Fish!”, pretending to be still corals. We also conducted two exciting science experiments: we learned how balloons help explain why fish don’t sink, and observed how colored warm water creates a beautiful underwater current.

  • Friday (Sea Voyage): We built a big ship out of cushions and experienced a real “calm and storm” to the sounds of the ocean. The week ended with a regatta, where the children blew on homemade boats in the water.

The week was filled with lots of laughter, splashes, and new discoveries. Big thanks to our little oceanographers for the wonderful emotions!
