In the past days the magic of knowledge conquered our students! Pupils from 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade immersed themselves into the world of discoveries during this year’s edition of the Sofia Festival of Science. The event, which gathers scientists and researchers, offered to our children the opportunity to see science from up close – not through the textbooks, but through experiences.

“Cosmos” Hall: Physics and chemistry in “A bottle with character”
The first stop of our young researchers was the emblematic “Cosmos” Hall. There they attended the demonstration “A bottle with character”, which literally “blew up” their imagination. Through a series of effective physics and chemistry experiments, the lecturers showed that even the most ordinary objects around us hide incredible secrets. The students observed unexpected reactions and changes in the state of substances, the laws of pressure and energy, presented in a fun way, interactive experiments, in which science looked like real art.

“Laboratory” Hall: The secrets of “Geography of the dungeons”
The adventure continued in “Laboratory” Hall, where the focus moved towards the entrails of our planet. The topic “Geography of the dungeons” led the students through unknown paths under the earth’s surface. During the fascinating lecture, the children learned how caves are formed and what riddles they hide, the role of underground waters and geological structures, why it is important to protect these hidden ecosystems.

Such initiatives not only enrich the knowledge of students, but also ignite the spark of curiosity, which is in the base of every big discovery. We thank the organizers of the Sofia Festival of Science for the inspiration!
